Kansas City, Missouri
Kansas City, Missouri, was officially incorporated as a city in 1850. It is uniquely situated at the confluence of the Kansas and Missouri rivers which boasts excellent fertile land. The first explorers and settlers were the French authorities including Etienne de Veniard and Sieur de Bourgmont. Kansas passed hands from the French to the Spanish and after the Louisiana Purchase, Lewis and Clark visited and found that it was a good place to build.
